| ICT at Newton Abbot College aims to provide students with an opportunity to develop a range of ICT skills. Students look at creating Games using specialist software. They also create Animations and Websites using industry standard software. Our new Key Stage 3 schemes of work have been developed to incorporate the recent changes to the National Curriculum and provide our students with the skills required to use ICT to enhance their learning. By the time students leave the College they will have a range of skills suited for the changing workplace. |
| All students start the OCR Nationals course in Year 9. This gives all students the opportunity to achieve at least one GCSE in ICT. The intention is that the majority of our students will achieve a double award in the subject. The course which lasts 3 years provides a full range of ICT skills including Website design, Animation, Graphics, ICT skills for Business including Spreadsheets and Database design. |
| Students at Key Stage 5 are given the opportunity to study for either the iMedia or OCR Nationals Level 3 course. This provides various routes to study different aspects of ICT. It is envisaged that the ICT Department will provide all students with the opportunity to achieve a Level 2 and Level 3 in ICT. |
