At Newton Abbot College we are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of our students. All of our staff are trained in how to deal with any child protection or safeguarding concerns. We have robust recruitment procedures and professional development programmes which ensure that our staff uphold our strong ethos and values.
Your child's safety and welfare is of paramount importance, overriding all other considerations. Schools are legally required to follow set procedures which we outline in our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

Newton Abbot College has been given the opportunity to take part in a project that will run jointly between schools and Devon and Cornwall Police.
Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.
For more information regarding the project, please refer to the parental communication that goes into more detail.
