Newton Abbot College welcomed returning foreign student, 15 year old Miquel Bellvehi, to spend three weeks in the College, learning about business administration in a secondary education setting in the UK.
Following his year-long visit as a student, Miquel returned to re-engage with his language studies, as well as shadowing various departments to get an inside look at the business infrastructure of a college setting. His three week visit included work within the Physical Education, Performing Arts, Modern Foreign Language and Marketing Departments.
The talented student has already secured a scholarship to the United States of America to cement his A Level studies and hopes that his time at the College will help his ultimate goal of becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Miquel said of the visit: “I enjoyed my time at Newton Abbot College so much the first time that I wanted to come back as soon as possible. As soon as I got in my school uniform on, I felt like I was back where I belong. I was not surprised to see how the College is still as welcoming as ever and I was so happy to see my friends again. Having seen both sides of the College environment, I can now understand fully how this sort of business institution works and I have realized how it is not a lot different from any other business in the market. I feel like this experience has been really enriching and I hope to be able to use all this knowledge for my future studies.”
Visit organiser and Teacher of French, Charlotte Pollard said: “It was a real pleasure to welcome Miquel back to our College community. As ever, his attitude and application to the task in hand has made his visit a real highlight of the term. We wish Miquel every success in the future and we cannot wait to hear about his inevitable future success.”
