Btec football and coaching academy

[caption id="attachment_6742" align="alignright" width="158"]Mark Titchard and Ashley Dove, Year 10 student Mark Titchard and Ashley Dove, Year 10 student[/caption] The Football and Coaching Academy is run in partnership with Arsenal Soccer Schools will be the first Academy of its kind in the Westcountry, with the nearest being based in London! It is a 2 year programme which will give students the opportunity to achieve a BTEC Double Award in Sport alongside a NGB Level 1 Coaching Award.  It will open up a wide variety of sporting opportunities and careers for students, not just in terms of professional football, but also coaching, physiotherapy, sports science, etc. Alongside their studies students will also train four times a week in sessions taken by Arsenal Coaches, lead football coaching in the local community and will represent Newton Abbot College and Arsenal Soccer Schools each week in the British College Sports League.  They will also have the opportunity to see Arsenal play at the Emirates Stadium.
