Newton Abbot College has welcomed two Swedish students to learn about Business Administration as part of the ongoing working relationship between the College and Bromangymnasiet, a 16-19 Sixth Form further education establishment in Hudiksvall, Sweden.
Students Herman Avsarki and Mustafa Attaie spent a three-week secondment at the College, shadowing various administrative roles to gain a deeper understanding of the workings of an English secondary education environment.
The College has enjoyed links with Bromangymnasiet for over ten years, regularly sending staff to share expertise, best practice and staff development opportunities as well as offering students the chance to experience English culture and educative environments.
The visit has been extremely informative, as Mustafa explains: “Newton Abbot College has been very welcoming. Our English has improved over the three weeks and we will be taking ideas back to Sweden to implement in our school environment. We have learned a lot, interacting with staff and students.”
Newton Abbot College’s Business Manager, Nick Hill, has been pleased with the visit: “This is the second time we have welcomed work experience students into our College community. Herman and Mustafa have been very engaged, learning a huge variety of business disciplines that will stand them in good stead for their future careers. Newton Abbot College is excited to be able to build strong links with Bromangymnasiet and we look forward to continuing this growing relationship in the future.”
