Huge congratulations to Year 11 prefect, Carrie Heale, who has been awarded Student of the Month for October 2020.
Carrie is a very talented student, who has been involved in countless music performances and College productions. She is an absolutely fantastic role model who takes advantage of all the opportunities available to her, both in and outside of the classroom. We couldn't be happier for you, Carrie; congratulations and Merry Christmas from all of us at Newton Abbot College.
“Carrie is a fantastic languages student who really pushes herself to be the best. She is aiming high and doing everything she can to get there! Work completed both in class and at home is of an exceptional standard and she is a real asset to our class. Carrie is not only a fantastic student, but she is also always a polite, thoughtful and smiley young lady.”
H Brown, Team Leader of Modern Languages
“Carrie is well deserving of this award. Carrie puts her attention to detail and inquisitive mind to great use in Science lessons. She is self-motivated and an excellent role model for other students. She is an independent worker but knows when to ask for support if she needs it. Well done Carrie!”
C Digges, Teacher of Science
“Carrie is a very deserving student of the month. She has always been one of the most diligent, hard-working student in the class, but she has really upped her game since the start of Year 11. Her focus in class is brilliant, she strives to consider the wider picture of each topic that we learn about and is careful to ask questions which expand her understanding and ensure that she knows how to use the knowledge in an exam context. She really is an outstanding young lady.”
Team Leader of History
“Carrie is an incredibly hard-working and polite young lady, who cares not only about her studies, but about others around her. She’s always willing to have a go and is constantly looking for ways to push herself. Carrie is going to go far!”
L Robson, Teacher of English
“Carrie is and has always been an outstanding student. She cares a great deal about her work and takes pride in the content and presentation. Carrie always strives to be the best that she can possibly be and is extremely encouraging and supportive to others. She has incredible musicianship that is often learnt at a much higher level, particularly with regards to her performance skills; both as a solo musician and as an ensemble performer. She is wonderful to be around and brings a great energy to the classroom.”
R Wilkinson, Team Leader of Music and Performing Arts
“Carrie is always enthusiastic and gives 100% effort every PE lesson. She is a pleasure to work with and truly deserves this award.”
