The College recently welcomed two new Co-Opted Governors to its Governing Body. Tami Harrison and Barry Reeves joined the College earlier in the year, joining both the main Board of Governors and the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
Tami is the director of a Newton Abbot firm of accountants, bringing to the Board financial expertise and a clear understanding of the importance of providing good educational settings within learning environments.
For the last 15 years, Barry he has worked extensively in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, managing large education reform programmes in South Africa and the Solomon Islands, as well as providing consultancy services to many international ministries of education and their school systems.
Barry and Tami’s appointment has been welcomed by College Principal, Paul Cornish: “We are pleased to welcome two such highly skilled Governors at Newton Abbot College. Governance is voluntary and I could not be more grateful to all Governors for their support to me and the College. Between them, Barry and Tami bring strategic education leadership and financial acumen that will, no doubt, help drive the College forward in the coming months and years.”
