College Appoints New Head of House and Anti-Bullying Lead

The College recently welcomed new Head of House and anti-bullying lead, Laura Moralee. A keen academic, Miss Moralee joined the College from the University of Exeter where she was working on a PhD thesis in political philosophy. 

Following her first class degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Exeter, Miss Moralee completed a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education before securing a highly coveted Economic and Social Research Council scholarship for a 4 year research project.

Alongside her studies, Miss Moralee spent time in the classroom teaching philosophy to undergraduates, children, and adults in the local community before applying to become the College’s newest addition to the Student Support Team.

As Head of Newton House, Miss Moralee will assume responsibility for the welfare of all students in her house, as well as leading on the College’s award-winning anti-bullying work that saw the College named as a showcase school for the nationally recognised Diana Award. 

Miss Moralee is ready for the challenge: “I am looking forward to making a positive difference within the College community. I will be using the excellent work of my predecessor to further improve the anti-bullying work throughout the College which will be a fully collaborative process with the students.”

Head of Student Support, Kate Keys, is excited for the future: “Laura’s appointment has already delivered an exciting new dynamic to the Student Support Team. Her knowledge and experience will be invaluable both in the every day running of Student Support as well as the innovative and hugely important anti-bullying work undertaken each academic year.”
