The College welcomed representatives from Teignbridge Homeless Action Today (THAT Place) on 18 December to receive the College’s annual food bank donation.
Following a College-wide appeal, THAT Place was thrilled to receive an incredible array of food, drink and toiletries received from staff, students and their families to donate to those less fortunate in the local area. 2015 is the second year that Newton Abbot College have run the food bank appeal, and organiser, Colin Gill, has been thrilled with the response: “The entire College Community, including Sixth Form students and members of staff, have come together to respond magnificently to a genuine need in our local community. We specifically made this year’s appeal Christmas-themed; despite it being an expensive time of year for everyone, we have been overwhelmed with the support and donations. I couldn’t be prouder of everyone at Newton Abbot College who have donated at this important time of year.”
THAT place representative, Anne Buttenshaw, was equally delighted: “This is a fantastic donation from Newton Abbot College; even better than last year’s. Christmas time is the busiest period for us at Teignbridge Homeless Action Today and this donation will be very well received by members of the wider community.”
