Newton Abbot College students are today celebrating a further significant increase in GCSE results: the seventh year in a row of improvements. A record 67% of students achieved 5 or more grades A*-C including English and Mathematics.
Amongst the top performers were: Beth Harper (4 A*s and 8 A grades); Jac Fleming (3 A*s and 9 A grades); Rachel Spooner (2 A*s and 11 A grades); Loren Smith (3 A*s and 7 A grades); Gabriel Quinlan and Adam Brenton (both with 1 A* and 10 A grades).
College Principal Gareth Davies, who leaves the College this year, said “I am delighted that our students have achieved such fantastic exam results. The grades have shown a huge improvement over the last seven years and this year marks a doubling since 2007 in the number of students achieving the important benchmark of 5 or more A*- C grades including English and Mathematics. I congratulate them and the College staff who have worked so hard to support them.”
