Over 150 pupils from local Primary Schools came to Newton Abbot College on Wednesday 13 March to take part in a multi-sport festival. Pupils from Decoy, All Saints Marsh, Canada Hill and Wolborough Primary Schools attended and were put into small work groups and moved around a carousel of activities. These activities were led by Newton Abbot College student leaders who were on hand to give the pupils tips and advice. Ian Patchett, Teacher of PE, said “It was great to see the young pupils really enjoying themselves within an active, stimulating, challenging and fun environment. It was quite clear to see the improvements that some of them had made.” [caption id="attachment_6339" align="aligncenter" width="464"] Ethan Gilpin from Wolborough Primary School with Lucy Jarrett, Newton Abbot College student leader[/caption] In total there were 13 Year 9 students from the College who led the activities as part of their role in the our Sports Leadership programme, where they develop key leadership skills within curriculum time and gain hands-on practical experience in the various festivals and competitions that we run throughout the year.
