Gcse performing arts students are made up with mac workshop

Year 11 Performing Arts (Make Up) students welcomed professional makeup artist and trainer Rebecca Dyke to host an advanced makeup workshop and question and answer session in preparation for their final GCSE exams in the coming months. Miss Dyke, Manager of one of London’s MAC stores, delivered a two part workshop; students received a master class in basic make up application before moving on tMAC Workshop Performing Arts Newton Abbot College Ofsted Goodo working on their own character stage make up designs that will contribute to their final GCSE examinations. Year 11 Jade Price was thrilled with the opportunity to work with an industry professional: “The Make Up MAC Workshop Newton Abbot College Ofsted Goodworkshop has been incredible; we have been shown some fantastic new techniques that can be applied to our own projects in preparation for our GCSE exams. The question and answer session gave us a real insight into the industry and what it takes to forge a career in makeup artistry.’ Miss Dyke was equally impressed with the students’ work “It has been a great opportunity to look through students’ mood boards and help them translate their visions to a finished look ready for the stage. The students have been really and attentive and completely engaged.” Teacher of Performing Arts and Dance, Sarah Dyke, explained the importance of workshops such as these: “This was an invaluable opportunity for our students to have the time and space to work on their designs and have the input of a leading industry specialist. The students have grown in confidence and technical ability. It has been fantastic to see them realise their incredible potential.”
