Year 9 student, Hannah Lloyd has been awarded 'Student of the Month' for September 2019.
Hannah is an incredible representative for Newton Abbot College, both in and out of the classroom. Whether it is wowing onstage in the summer production of 'Chicago', working incredibly hard in the classroom, or advocating for others to help make a welcoming and inclusive environment, Hannah is always trying her best. She is a true role model for others to look up to. Huge congratulations from all of us at Newton Abbot College, Hannah!
“Hannah is a creative, conscientious and skilful student who endeavours to do her best in every lesson. Her work is highly skilful and imaginative which inspires students around her.”
B Newell, Teacher of Art
“Hannah is a delightful student and a pleasure to teach. She is conscientious and approaches all topics covered in Religious Studies with good sense, thoughtfulness and maturity. She listens to the views of others with respect and she gives good reasons for her own opinions. Hannah completes all tasks to a high standard and makes intelligent links between different topics. She deserves every success.”
Team Leader of Religious Studies
“Hannah is a delightful member of my tutor group who goes out of her way to be helpful and kind. Hannah is a buddy to some of our year 7 students in Lewis 8 and she takes this responsibility very seriously illustrating her commitment and compassionate nature. She is an outstanding team member and role model and is hugely respected by her peers. Hannah wholeheartedly deserves to be recognised for her kind, caring and positive attitude to others but also her work ethic and conscientious approach to her learning.”
S Godfrey, Team Leader of Drama
“Hannah is always positive within Mathematics; no challenge is too great to attempt”
C Salt, Teacher of Mathematics
“Hannah is a fantastic languages student. She has a high level of confidence which allows her to make great strides in her spoken Spanish but at the same time she focuses hard on her written accuracy. In class she is positive, resilient and enthusiastic and works well with her classmates. If Hannah continues working with the same positive attitude throughout the remainder of her Spanish GCSE, then I have no doubt that she will finish the course with a fantastic grade.”
H Brown, Team Leader of Modern Languages
“As a founding member of the Gender and Sexuality Alliance, Hannah has been fundamental in establishing a positive and supportive environment where students feel confident to share their thoughts and concerns. She recently completed some training to equip her with the skills to support the college’s LGBTQ+ community and demonstrated a clear passion for ensuring all students feel welcome, valued and accepted. She is a fantastic role model and the GSA Alliance are lucky to have her on board.”
K Rose, Deputy Inclusion Systems Manager and GSA Staff Ambassador
