Hays kindle fire donation fuels modern language learning

Hays Travel Newton Abbot visited Newton Abbot College on 14 September to present four Kindle Fire tablets and prizes as part of their ongoing community partnership.

The presentation, made by Hays representative, Jenny Bovey, is the second of its kind to the College, seeking to support and promote the provision of Modern Languages in a secondary education setting. The tablets will be used as interactive learning resources that allow students to tailor listening and vocabulary studies to their own individual needs.

Hays Travel also present a Languages Cup and prize to the student in Key Stage 3 who has shown the greatest aptitude and effort in learning a foreign language. The cup will be presented to the winning student in the College’s upcoming Awards Evening in early October.

Hays representative, Jenny Bovey, said: “Hays Travel are pleased to continue to support Newton Abbot College’s Modern Languages students. It is really helpful and important for students to have access to technologies that will help with their learning.”

Team Leader of Modern Foreign Languages, Hannah Brown, said of the donation: “We are, once again, thrilled with the generosity of our partners, Hays Travel, for such a wonderful donation. The continued use of these tablets will encourage students to positively engage with their language learning, helping them to ultimately maximise their outcomes in their GCSE examinations and beyond.”
