Increasing Opportunities at College Careers Fair

The College opened up its doors to receive representatives from a wide range of exhibitors for its annual Careers Fair.

On Wednesday 26 February, over forty exhibitors set up in the Daphne Collman Auditorium, encouraging students from Years 9-13 to discover the myriad career options available to them. Representatives from a huge range of sectors, including higher education, skills training, construction, healthcare, building surveying, accountancy, sport, hospitality and apprenticeship opportunities were on hand to advise students of their options and potential futures.

Students were encouraged to ask questions of exhibitors to find out more about their trades and completed booklets to ensure effective interaction and communication with the visitors.

Newton Abbot College Business Manager, Nick Hill, said “We are delighted to have welcomed over 40 exhibitors to our annual Careers Fair. Representatives from healthcare, IT, construction, armed forces, accountancy, the arts, higher education, skills training and apprenticeships were all on site to give valuable advice to our students in helping them decide their future careers pathways. We would also like to thank the parents who attended at the end of the day for their support. The exhibitors and students had an enjoyable and worthwhile day, which greatly benefited all those who attended the event.”
