A group of Sixth Formers from Newton Abbot College headed to Cardiff to visit the ‘Innovations of the Future’ exhibition at Sofia Gardens (home to Glamorgan Cricket Club). The exhibition was arranged through the A Level exam board for the College’s Product Design courses. It provided students with a valuable insight into what is expected of them in their course and gave them the opportunity to attend seminars, ranging from Intellectual Property Rights to Folder Presentation.
The Sixth Formers were also able to visit an exhibition showing past A Level projects and took lots of photographs and sketches to fire their imagination.
Andy Spencer, Teacher of Design and Technology, said “This was a truly inspirational visit for our students and they were all impressed by the high standards demanded by the course. Their first practical paper is due in mid-October and I am looking forward to seeing them put their ideas into practice.”
