As well as competing in sporting events at the College, Tommy is also a regular competitor at both regional and national athletics competitions.  This September he took part in the English Schools Athletics Association (ESAA) Combined Events and Race Walking finals in Boston, Lancashire. Speaking about the finals, Tommy said “The weather was miserable; it was cold and windy, so the conditions were quite hard.  There were 42 of us competing in the Junior Boys’ Pentathlon and I came 27th, scoring 2,228 points, only 200 points behind my personal best.” This was Tommy’s last race for the season and he is now currently ranked 28th in the UK.
