Year 8 student, Keira Bailey, has been awarded 'Student of the Month' for March 2019.
Reading through the comments below, it isn't difficult to see why; when lots of teaching staff are describing her as 'a pleasure to teach' and one going so far as to say that Kiera is one of the most hardworking and dedicated students they have taught, it is little wonder that this brilliant student has received this accolade. Huge congratulations Keira; you are a credit to yourself and to Newton Abbot College!
“Keira is an outstanding student in Religious Studies. She works consistently hard, has excellent study skills and always pushes herself to achieve her very best. Keira has an excellent vocabulary of specialist terminology and she applies this with intelligence and empathy. She asks perceptive questions and makes thoughtful links between different topics. She has been a pleasure to teach from the moment she arrived at Newton Abbot College.”
Team Leader of Religious Studies
“Keira works so incredibly hard in music, she always strives to push herself and openly accepts challenges. Perseverance is Kiera’s key to success and will always hold her in good stead. Above everything though, Kiera is kind, thoughtful, mature and fun. She absolutely deserves student of the month and is a fantastic role model for others.”
R Wilkinson, Team Leader of Music and Performing Arts
“Keira is an absolute pleasure to teach. Lesson in, lesson out she turns up with a smile on her face, ready to learn and improve her work. She shows great interest in the subject and she is as enthusiastic about Spanish grammar as I am, which is sometimes difficult to find in a student! Keira always participates fully in class, asks sensible questions and stretches and challenges herself without direction from the me. I have no doubt that if Keira continues working in this fantastic way, then she will excel at GCSE Spanish.”
H Brown, Team Leader of Modern Foreign Languages
“Keira is one of the most hard working and dedicated students I have taught. She always works to her full potential, learning from her mistakes and striving to improve. Kiera is supportive of her peers and has only nice things to say about everyone.”
C Digges, Teacher of Science
“Keira is a very keen reader completely smashing her Accelerated Reader target both in the Autumn and Spring terms this academic year!
She likes to read books that challenge her personally and is always happy to support other students in their reading.”
L Ring, Deputy Principal
“Keira is a model student who always performs to her best. Utterly reliable and the quality of her work is what others should strive to match.”
