The College welcomed theatre company, Onatti Productions, to perform a French piece entitled ‘Les Garçons’ to Year 8, 9 and 10 French students from the College and visiting students from Dawlish College.
The play, delivered by two native French speaking actors, follows the story of Natalie, whose babysitting evening is interrupted by her ex-boyfriend Tristan, who wants to get back together with her. Reluctantly, she allows him to stay and help babysit. Mayhem and comedic moments ensue, with Natalie eventually storming out, leaving Tristan to deal with the baby’s returning parents.
The piece is aimed at secondary students and is designed to help with their vocabulary, speaking and listening techniques throughout their GCSE French studies.
Teacher of French, Helen Shipway said, “What a great way to start the new half term with a chance to enjoy the French play ‘Les Garçons’ brilliantly produced by the Onatti Theatre company. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to be immersed in the French language and interact with native French actors. Many of them commented on how easy it was to follow the storyline and pick up new vocabulary along the way.”
