MTI Conference

Recently a group of Year 9 Engineering students from Newton Abbot College were invited to the Manufacturing, Technology and Innovation Conference (MTI) at the Riviera International Centre in Torquay.  This prestigious event gave the students the chance to view companies from the hi-tech sector who offer potential work/apprentice opportunities to the future workforce. With around 40 exhibitors there were plenty of seminars and demonstrations as well as hands-on activities for the students to participate in.  One of the activities challenged the students to drop an egg from a certain height without breaking it … unfortunately it was back to the drawing board for the College’s fledgling engineers!
