On Wednesday 26th January Newton Abbot College hosted a key stage two Sports festival for students from the local primary schools within this area.
In total there were seven schools who attended across the two timeslots that were provided for the schools. The primary students took part in a carousel of seven different activities which each had a different focus such as running, throwing and agility. Many of these activities were performed with the students working in mini teams to develop their team work, engagement and competitive spirit.
All of the activities were led by sports leaders from Newton Abbot College who did a great job keeping the primary students engaged and enthused throughout.
PE teacher Mr Patchett said “this was a fantastic event which we were able to provide for our local primary schools. All of those taking part showed brilliant enthusiasm and engagement throughout. I was particularly impressed with our young leaders who were able to pitch the activities at a suitable level so that all of the primary students would be able to access and take part fully.”
