We have been so proud to have supported Jay's AIM as our College's Charity during the last two years.
Jay’s AIM was established 3 and a half years ago, after the sudden death of Jay due to a cardiac arrest. Since then, Jay’s brother, and the rest of his family have been educating as many people as they can on the importance of defibrillators and CPR training, to increase the chances of survival from 6% to up to 74%.
Newton Abbot College have been raising money for this incredible charity over the last two years, with the aim to raise £10,000. With fundraising activities ranging from football competitions and cake sales to skydiving and incredible walking challenges, all our amazing students and staff have got involved and worked so hard to challenge themselves and raise as much money for Jay’s AIM.We are so proud to reveal that not only did we surpass the £10,000 target we gave ourselves in the first year of fundraising, but we have over tripled it, with a total raised of £32,557.03!
We could not be any prouder of the incredible achievements and efforts from our staff and students and look forward to our next fundraising efforts with this year’s charity, Above Water.
