Newton Abbot College has recently appointed over eighty Year 10 students to the position of Prefect for the forthcoming 2018/2019 academic year.
Appointments were made following a rigorous selection process, involving letters of application, peer-to-peer formal interviews and observed tasks and presentations. The whole process took a number of weeks and was overseen by the College’s Deputy Principal Lesley Ring.

The official appointments were made during the College’s Awards Assembly Week in front of the whole student cohort, Heads of House and staff members. Assistant Principal, Lesley Ring, said of the new Prefect body: “The new Prefect team have made a phenomenal start to their time in office. They have certainly hit the ground running on Gate Duty with several visitors to the College already reporting how lovely it was to see such smiley and helpful people doing the ‘meet and greet’ in the mornings!”
