New principal

Newton Abbot College started this academic year with a new Principal at the helm.  Paul Cornish was appointed back in March and has joined the College at a busy and exciting time. This year’s excellent exams results show that the College is going from strength to strength as the constant drive for improvement continues. A Level results saw a 98% overall pass rate with half of those being achieved at a very high standard of A* - B.  GCSE results have placed Newton Abbot College securely in the top 10% of schools nationally for the last 2 years, with 67% of GCSE students achieving 5 A*- C in English and Maths (a further  increase on last year’s 63%). The College’s statement of intent is to be outstanding in all they do with a focus on the traditional basics (behaviour, uniform and attendance) and this will not change.   Paul already has a very clear vision of what he expects from the College: high expectations balanced with a caring and supporting ethos.  The aim will always be to ensure excellence in both progress and academic attainment outcomes for all students as well as preparing them for their future!
