Olympic athlete mentoring

Newton Abbot College students were thrilled when Heather Fell, the 2008 Olympic Silver Medallist and modern pentathlon athlete, came to visit.  During the course of the day, Heather talked about her journey to becoming an Olympic athlete, achieving her dream and winning a silver medal in 2008. Heather also ran a Sports Nutrition session for the students and finished the day with a range of fun and exciting practical activities.  During this part of the day, Heather put the students through their paces doing similar practical sessions to the ones she did for her Olympic training. The students were very inquisitive and inspired by Helen’s story and gained a unique insight into what it takes to reach the top and become an elite athlete.
