Personal best

Tommy D’Cruz is once again taking the athletics world by storm.  On Saturday 21 June, the Year 9 student from Newton Abbot College won the hurdles race at the South West Schools Championships and smashed his personal best record which saw him finishing the race in 11.95 seconds.  He also represented Newton Abbot College the following week in the English Schools Athletics Association (ESAA) South West Schools’ Combined Events Championships in Yeovil and yet again smashed his personal best with 2,445 points. Colleen Devincenzi-Clemens, Team Leader of PE, said “We are truly proud of Tommy in his latest achievements.  He is an inspiration to his peers and to all of the aspiring athletes working hard to excel in their chosen sports.  We wish him the best of luck in both upcoming events.”
