“Jaimee is a conscientious student who has always worked incredibly hard in Preparation for Working Life and is normally ahead of the class in completing her portfolio. The quality of Jaimee’s work is very high and she has always been happy for others to look at it and use her work as a benchmark. Jaimee is a very friendly student who will always help others in need. I had the pleasure of visiting Jaimee on her recent work experience visit. Her employer couldn’t speak more highly of Jaimee. She explained to me that Jaimee has really embraced being ‘at work’, offered the highest level of customer service to all of her customers and was very eager to learn the ropes! So much so, that Jaimee was invited to attend an event with her employer at the end of the week as she had worked hard to help prepare for it throughout the week. Jaimee is an organised student and during her work experience her organisational skills came in very handy when preparing to get ready to take a food van to a primary summer fete. It was really nice to hear someone else outside of the College speak so highly of one of our students and about how she had made such a positive impression of the College. As a result of all of Jaimee’s hard work she is currently on track to achieve her Level 2 Certificate of Personal Effectiveness.”

Teacher of Business Studies

“I have just travelled from the town to Buckland on the 77 bus leaving at 3.30pm. The bus was full of pupils from Newton Abbot College and what a pleasant journey that was. A young lady (Jaimee) stood up immediately as I boarded and insisted I had her seat and the youngsters around me were talking to me. There was no shouting, fighting or bad language. These pupils are to be congratulated and thanked.”

B Martin, Member of the Local Community

“Jaimee is determined and never gives up. She is so passionate about the subject and it’s always nice to hear what she has been cooking at home. Jaimee should be so proud of herself as she always tries her hardest and puts in 100%......this has been vital in Catering!!!”

S Lilley, Teacher of Design and Technology

“Jaimee has made excellent progress in Drama, where she has demonstrated what an outstanding team member she is. Jaimee is supportive, empathic and emotionally intelligent. This was also exemplified in her commitment to ‘The Big Sleep Out’ where she independently raised £45.00 – as well as staying out the whole night to show her dedication in support of such an important charity event. This clearly illustrates what a lovely, kind and caring human being Jaimee is!”

S Godfrey, Team Leader of Drama

“Jaimee is a wonderful student who has grown in confidence over the last year or so. She is a very friendly and helpful student who cannot do enough for others. Jaimee is extremely caring and will often support students who are having a difficult time or are struggling with their work. I am so impressed with how she throws herself into everything and will always do the best that she can possibly do.”
