Huge congratulations to Year 9 student, Ruby Richardson, who has been awarded 'Student of the Month' for May 2019.
Ruby is a brilliantly dedicated, kind and polite student, who shines in everything she does; most recently on the College stage for the performance of 'Chicago' where her vocal talent was clear for everyone to see. You are an absolute star, Ruby: congratulations from all of us at College for this well-deserved accolade!

“I am very lucky to have Ruby in my tutor group. Since her arrival in Year 7 she has been an absolute delight! She can always be relied upon to bring a smile to tutor time and she is very quick to engage with activities and discussions. She knows when to have a laugh but also sets a great example to younger students with her organisation and enthusiasm. For the past three years Ruby has consistently organised and run our tutor group charity projects. I also have the pleasure of teaching Ruby for History where she proves herself to be a dedicated and diligent student. She is quick to get involved in class discussion and find humorous ways of making key content memorable. Alongside all of this, Ruby is a regular in College shows and productions. Her passion for performance and singing is always clear to see and her enthusiasm is infectious. Ruby is a real asset to D7 and to Newton Abbot College and makes a very worthy student of the month.”
K Dowling, Team Leader of History and Tutor

“Ruby is a fantastic musician. She works incredibly hard in lessons and always tries to push herself out of her comfort zone in order to achieve. Ruby has overcome many obstacles through sheer perseverance, which in turn has developed her as a musician. Ruby is very kind and considerate of other people’s feelings; she has fun and enjoys life. She always makes me smile and will most definitely succeed in her chosen passion as she is determined and puts in maximum effort.”
