Student of the Month - September 2018 - Zak-Ray Linley-Moss

Huge congratulations to Year 10 student, Zak-Ray Linley-Moss, who has been awarded Student of the Month for September. Zak is an extremely talented, dedicated and positive student, who has made a constantly positive impact on the College community since he started in Year 7. A fantastic award, for a well-deserving student!

“Zak is a fantastic Geographer. He is extremely hardworking and he has a great understanding of the GCSE topics that have been covered so far.  With such a positive attitude and work ethic, Zak is predicted to achieve a top grade at GCSE level.  Well done, Zak!”

“Zak is a polite and charming young man who is always ready with a smile both in lessons and around College. He demonstrates his commitment to being his absolute best at all times. He is by far the most reliable student with regards to catching up with work in lessons missed due to his various sporting and leadership commitments in and out of College. Which makes it all the more impressive that he so successfully manages his time and never misses a deadline. His work in History is always of an excellent standard and the fact that he is maintaining a steady progress, shows that he is very good at taking on board advice for improving his work. Zak’s interpersonal skills are also excellent, and he can be relied upon to contribute to class discussions and support other students in their class work. Zak is a pleasure to have in the class and a thoroughly deserving Student of the Month!”

K Dowling, Team Leader of History

“Zak is a pleasure to have in my tutor group. He is incredibly helpful, reliable and supportive to everybody; to the extent that I feel like we have a co-tutor for O4! He has made the new Year 7 students feel so welcome and will frequently escort them to their first lesson or give them advice without me needing to ask. If one of his fellow Year 10 students are absent, he will automatically take on their responsibilities of checking equipment and uniform of the younger students. As well as this, Zak has achieved numerous academic and sporting achievements both in and out of College and has consistently received reports of a very high standard throughout his time at Newton Abbot College.  Zak is also in my Maths class, where he continues to excel; recently receiving the award for the best in the subject in his year group. He is an excellent role model for all of the students in O4 and I am proud to have him in the tutor group.”

C Brigden, Teacher of Mathematics and Tutor

“Zak is a thoughtful, kind and respectful student. He is modest in his ability and extremely hard-working. I am so pleased to see him receive this award as he has been an exemplary student across all aspects of College life since the moment he walked through the doors in Year 7. Well done Zak - thoroughly deserved.”

L Thomas, Teacher of English

“Zak is a pleasure to teach. He is an exceptionally conscientious student who combines his natural intelligence and logical thinking with hard work, to consistently achieve high marks in Religious Studies. Both classwork and homework tasks are completed to a high standard. Zak has a genuine passion for learning about new ideas, beliefs and approaches to moral issues and he has good empathy skills, so can appreciate a range of points of view. He richly deserves every success.”
