Students from Curie House recently partook in a sponsored swim to help raise funds for the College’s chosen charity for the academic year 2017-18, mental health charity, Place2Be.
As part of the College’s yearly ‘Tutor Challenge’, students including Evan Bearne, Jack Harry, Ben Morrish, James Whitby and Archie Panks from C8 tutor group raised an incredible £403.50 between them after completing the swim.

“It was great fun taking part in the sponsored swim” Year 8 participant, Ben Morrish explained, “We swam as far as we could in the time given; some of us swam sixty lengths. It was a really good way to raise money. A lot of people struggle with mental health issues and we want to be able to help as many people as possible.”
Tutor Sue Shute was thrilled with the result: “I am very proud of my tutees; they showed incredible resilience in the pool to keep going for the entire hour. They made a fantastic commitment to a wonderful charity and stuck with it to the end.”
