Newton Abbot College held a ‘Big Christmas Drop-Off’ on Monday 1 December following on from the success of last year’s collection for Newton Abbot and Teignbridge Food Bank. Members of the College community made the collection a heart-warming, seasonal success as staff, students, family, friends and local businesses got involved and donated a huge variety of items, many of them with a Christmassy touch! Food donations arrived at the College reception throughout the day including large donations from the staff at Wignalls Ltd, Formcrete Ventures Ltd and Harbron Recruit Ltd, all based in Newton Abbot. By the time Anne and Hugh Buttenshaw from the charity arrived to collect the donations the College had easily filled 10 large boxes. It is encouraging to see how much young people care and have given their overwhelming support – this is Newton Abbot College at its best. Thank you to all the students, parents, staff and Governors.” Newton Abbot College would also like to thank everyone for their support for this worthwhile community project and is looking forward to their Easter collection in March 2015.
