Newton Abbot College students from Years 7-13 took to the stage recently to showcase their dancing talents in the popular annual performance, ‘The Works’.
Returning for its third consecutive year, the acclaimed show saw students deliver a performance full of different dance styles from contemporary and lyrical to ballet and hip-hop. Key stage and year group dance highlights included a ‘Where’s Wally’ inspired performance by Year 10 students and Key Stage 3’s interpretation of Pink’s hit ‘What About Us?’. Individual performances punctuated the group numbers, with Year 11 Eleanor Skinner wowing audiences with her performance ‘Mercy’ and Year 13 student Imogen Thomas’ emotional rendition of ‘No Place Like Home’.

The show was a culmination of the students’ own choreographic work and pieces produced throughout the year in classes and the College’s popular and thriving dance clubs.

The performance was met with huge applause, with one audience member commenting: “The work that goes into these performances is huge; it is so wonderful to be able to see students in their element, performing such mature and well-conceived pieces. Brilliant!”
