For the first time in the history of the College, some of our top Chemistry students represented us at the Devon Regional Finals of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s National Chemistry competition, which was held at Exeter University. ‘Top of the Bench’ Students put their chemistry knowledge and skills to the test and did an excellent job on two complex chemistry practical sessions. The College team obtained the best result for the acid-base titrations of indigestion tablets, and did a great job using teamwork for an incredibly difficult test for Halide anions.
Alicia Wideman, Science Teacher said: “The College ‘Top of the Bench’ team did us proud , they excelled in the practical sessions and worked really well as a team - collaboratively discussing the approach to take and sharing the tasks. We can’t wait to give it another go next year!”
