Three College netball players have become South West U12 Netball champions with their local team, Teignbridge Titans.
Year 7 players Natalia Bartholomew, Mia Gale and Frankie Lobb joined the rest of their team mates at Paignton Community Sports Academy to take part in the South West Regional Championships. The talented trio helped the team secure the club’s fifth consecutive win at regional level.

Progressing through the rounds, the Titans’ semi-final match was won with a convincing 24-4 score line. The final match started slowly, with the Titans behind on goals. A determined effort saw the team push through to a final 12-4 triumph and a position at the top.
All three young players have made a striking impression on court; Natalia has only been part of the Titans for three weeks before being selected for the regional team, Frankie was appointed Vice-Captain of the team for the duration of the tournament and Mia was chosen as ‘Coach’s Player of the Match’ in their semi-final round.

All three players also represent the Year 7 College team, who have enjoyed unprecedented success this season, most notably being crowned Central Venue League champions for 2018.
Mia Gale said of their achievement: “It was great to represent the Teignbridge Titans, but also Newton Abbot College. Playing netball has meant we have met some amazing people and made great friends, as well as working as a team; netball has definitely brought us all closer.”
College PE Support Assistant, Chantel Greep, added: “We have some incredibly talented and strong players coming up through the ranks. They have shown their mettle on court with some well-deserved wins and we are looking forward to seeing what these young players will have to offer in the coming seasons.”
