Year nine monologues

Last month, our very talented Year 9 drama students had the incredible opportunity to work with Papa Tango, creating short monologues.

The companies GoWrite workshop gave the students insight into writing plays and how to professionally publish them. From an Emotional, Flea-ridden, Disease-full bonanza, to a Coffee Conundrum, the students got creative, giving us a snippet of the lives and stories of some very interesting characters.

“It was such a unique experience, and so interesting to see our work be professionally made”.

Not only did the aspiring actors have the chance to go through the process of creating and publishing these short stories, but they were also given the chance to watch them come to life as professional actors from Papa tango performed them, followed by a Q&A.

“The whole experience has really opened my eyes to writing and having someone else perform my work was very exciting. It gives you a sense of pride.”

This opportunity allowed our Drama students to see their work in the medium it was intended, and how their ideas can transform from on paper to reality in a professional setting.

We cannot wait to see where their ideas take them next!
