The music industry is a major Worldwide economy with new opportunities emerging for employment in the fields of music for media, gaming and sound design as well as traditional sound engineering and composition pathways. This course is perfect if you want to learn a wide range of digital music production skills on computer based music software, including mixing, remixing and recording music for film, television and games.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Students must have achieved a minimum of Grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics and Grade 4 (equivalent) in at least 3 other GCSE/Level 2 qualifications.
Subject Specific Requirements
GCSE Music is NOT necessary but a keen interest in music technology is desirable.
What will I do?
This course is aimed equally at those with a strong desire to pursue a career in the music production industry or music performance.
Digital Music production is now something accessible to everyone, but Music software such as Logic are very powerful tools that are taking over from the traditional recording studios that we all know.
The courses is also ideal for musicians who have a strong desire to be able to self-record and produce their own songs or composers wishing to write and record music for film, television or games.
Students will complete a variety of both practical and written assignment. There are no exams on this course.
