Public services

The aim of studying Public Services is to inspire and enthuse learners to consider a career in the Public Services sector. It will give learners the potential opportunity, in due course, to enter employment in a wide range of job roles. Learners will gain broad knowledge and understanding of, and develop skills in, the Public Services sector and support progression to further specialised Level 3 qualifications in Public Services, or onto an Apprenticeship.

Through specialist units, learners will develop transferable skills related to study and vocational application that provide a platform for success both within Public Services and elsewhere.

Minimum Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; however, a genuine enthusiasm and commitment to Public Sector professional roles is essential. You must be prepared to be active, to work both in a team and independently on all tasks and assignments set. You must also be willing to take part in work placements.

Subject Specific Requirements

Ideally, students will have achieved a minimum Grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics at GCSE. However, due the written content of this course, a minimum requirement of a Grade 3 in English Language or Literature will be required.
